Gröner Group places topping-out wreath for its own innovation and training center in Leipzig

In the Leipzig district of Paunsdorf, the Gröner Group today placed the topping-out wreath for its own innovation and further training center in the "Mansfeld Hallen" on Riesaer Straße.

The ceremony took place in close compliance with hygiene regulations.

Within the Gröner Group, CG Elementum AG is the service provider for sustainable, ecological and forward-looking real estate development. With the establishment of its own development and training capacities, the company with Leipzig roots is taking the consistent next step.

The head of the Leipzig branch and board member Ulf Graichen was visibly pleased: “The use of modern technologies and digital work processes is becoming increasingly important in the construction sector as well. It has been clear to us for a long time that we need to break new ground both in the further training of our team and in the qualification of new skilled workers. We have found the ideal home for this here in the historic factory atmosphere.”

The listed building complex once housed the machine factory for cardboard and paper processing “Chn. Mansfeld”. Where goods such as typewriters were still manufactured in the last century, the entire service area for handicrafts and trade of the Gröner Group will in future be united in one place on around 9,000 of the total of almost 14,000 square meters of commercial space. In addition to offices and various workshops for classic crafts, work areas for serial production of wall and floor coverings, for example, will also be created here. In the future, CG Elementum employees will be trained here for classic trades as well as prefabrication or will have the opportunity to deepen their already learned craft in the training workshops. In addition, almost 5,000 m² are available for commercial and office tenants.

Due to a lack of young talent in the industry, the founder and managing director of the Gröner Group, Christoph Gröner, had already initiated the idea of his own training center a few years ago. With the “Mansfeld Hallen”, he has now also put these words into practice, because in addition to innovation and further training opportunities for the existing workforce, trainees will also be trained in the future to become specialists of the future. They will have the opportunity to live in one of the adjacent apartments for trainees.

Sustainable disposal of contaminated sites

Due to the historical value and the accompanying monument protection of the former factory in the east of Leipzig, the remaining traces of industrial use were removed in compliance with legal regulations and under the claim of sustainability.
